South Africa Trip

Mark DeLegge traveled to South Africa and visited the cities of Capetown and Blomfontein. There he participated in multi-day critical care nutrition conferences with multiple speakers from South Africa and the United States. The lectures focused on the importance of the dietitian and the well-trained nutrition physician in the intensive care unit. Mark made rounds with hospital teams in a variety of major hospitals with interactive teaching rounds to create a "give and take" environment where everyone learned. Many complicated clinical cases were presented during the conferences allowing for all the expert speakers to comment on what they would do.
